2017 Communications Student Award Recipient
Michelle Pensa Branco
The Communications Student Award recognizes students for their creative and engaging communications strategies on critical public health issues. For our 2017 competition, students were asked to create a crisis communications strategy based on an environmental public health emergency scenario.
Our 2017 award recipient, Michelle Pensa Branco, is a second year Masters of Public Health student at the University of Waterloo. Michelle's strategy offered creative and innovative approaches for crisis and stakeholder communications during an environmental disaster. Her strategy tackled several crisis communications challenges including building trust within affected communities, communicating with uncertainty and message consistency/dissemination during a power outage.
Congratulations to our 2017 Communications Student Award recipient.
